F*ck 12 Promo Video
for Orrin's 2018 single "F*ck 12"
I animated a looping, rotating 3d render of a handcuff - a universal symbol of law enforcement and imprisonment. The unmistakeable whirling siren colors faded into the background further establish the atmosphere of fear and anxiety.
Background
Orrin is a rapper with 100k monthly listeners. Stylistically, he is recognizable for his gender-fluid and futuristic influences on his fashion-forward image. He also had a viral feature on #1 talkshow Dr. Phil with 20m Youtube views as a "cyborg from the year 2050." He has been featured in publications like Noisey, I-D, Lyrical Lemonade, and more.
I was commissioned to design a video snippet (for Instagram) as promotional material for Orrin's single "F*ck 12."
TIME: 1 month
TOOLS: AfterEffects
SKILLS: Motion graphics, 3D graphics
Design Process
The controversial song "F*ck 12" delivers a striking political and societal message critiquing law enforcement and its abuse on minorities, particularly African Americans. I wanted to convey the gripping and serious nature of the song's commentary on police.
